OTTAWA – Russian freedom fighters Maria Alekhina, Ekaterina Samutsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, members of the punk rock collective Pussy Riot, are due for an appeal hearing on October 1.

The three were sentenced to two years each in a labour camp for protesting against Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Sun News supported the imprisonment.

Eclipse News, however, supports Pussy Riot, artistic expression, and resistance to dictatorships.

If you want to support Pussy Riot, sign the Amnesty International petition here.
